Honey Melon Fudge

Honey Melon Fudge is the sequel to Finders, Seekers, Losers, Keepers.  It is Asha's story, and it is a story of love, lust, and a whole bunch of hiking.

The first draft is completed!!!  It will still be some time before it is published, as Mike-the-copy-editor and I argue over commas (he wins) and grapple with meaning and clarity (I win).  Looks like early 2010 is the best guess at this point.  Stay tuned!

The writing happened in the interstices of life - in between shoveling the driveway or driving a teenager to a high school dance.  Even more than Finders, Seekers is, Honey Melon Fudge is a part of that real life - it is a story of a woman raising a daughter, figuring out how to be whole, and how to lose and reinvent her life in the face of the comic, tragic and completely mundane ups and downs of life.

Over the course of conversations and rewrites of sections and scenes, I have realized  that Honey Melon Fudge is actually a martial arts saga.  It is also a rewrite of Bambi! Confused? The archetype of the student and the master, of course ....

Check back here for status reports, anecdotes and other fun reflections upon the process of writing while working, living, hiking, and surviving raising teenagers.
